Bye-Bye Adenoids

I know it has been a while since my last post, but I feel like a million things have been going on the last few months! The kids have constantly had strep back and forth. Asher has had it 7 times and Kaidi 8 times in the past 8 months! Usually every 2 weeks one of them had strep. Very frustrating!!! We took the kids to see a specialist on March 7 and he recommended tubes for both of them and adenoids taken out. Their surgeries were this past Friday. Recovery was ROUGH!!! I ended up becoming a little overwhelmed when they brought Kaidi back to us because Asher had been back for 10-15 minutes and was still screaming his head off and wanted me.. Then Kaidi came in reaching for me and screaming and coughing this croupy cough so I lost it for just a minute. I got it together quickly and tried my best to calm her down while Gregg and his mom battled Asher. We left there and got on home and the weekend began!! :) It wasn't real bad Saturday. The kids seemed pretty normal but had I had a HORRIBLE night with them Saturday night. Between the two of them, I was up 6-8 times. Sunday, Kaidi was VERY out of it. She had no energy, appetite or pep whatsoever. Sunday night was worse! I laid down at 11:15 and Asher was up at 11:45 and was refusing his bottle (which is how he goes to sleep) and I wrestled with him for an hour, walking through the dark house, bumping him up and down and singing He is Lord over and over again) and finally he wore out and went to sleep. As I was laying him in his crib, I could hear Kaidi screaming from her room so onto the next baby! :) That cycle repeated about 3-4 times and finally I laid down at 4am and Asher was back up at 6:30. Monday was a pretty rough day too.. it took Kaidi up until today to really seem somewhat normal again. Last night was the first night she slept all night since her surgery too. Asher has been better today too. He is such a chunk!! :) And SWEET! Oh My he is the sweetest thing!! He started crawling last Monday so he is covering some ground at our house!! I am gonna have to re-baby proof the entire house. He is so curious and I can definitely see him being a handful when he gets a little bigger. He is ALL boy!! Kaidi just talks all the time! Sings all the time too! She is precious and says some of the funniest things. We have been wearing big girl panties for a few weeks now and yesterday at work I took her inside to potty and she tooted and looked up and me and said, "Maaaaaama, My hiney is singing!!"  I just laughed! She has also become very interested in her shadow and things that match! She tells me all the time what matches and she loves to play the memory game. She got the Disney Princess Memory game as a gift for Christmas and is all about it lately. I am glad! We recently moved her into a bigger big girl bed. She is now in a full size bed and has been in it about a month now and has only fallen out one time and that was in the first week. Now she LOVES climbing in and out of it 100 times after she lays down for bed and comes to the door and requests a number of things like, "Bring me a Hug and a Kiss Mama!" "Cover me up Daddy" "I want some water" "I can't find my Silkie"  the list goes on and on!  :) It's precious though. One night Gregg went in and spanked her and as he was walking out the door she hollered, "I LOVE YOU DADDY!" and he said, I love you too baby and she said, "I LOVE YOU ALL THE WORLD!"  I am on the couch in the living room, hearing this all take place and am just laughing, knowing that he is soooo wrapped!! :) He come out with a grin on his face and said the very thing I was thinking!! lol
As far as my pregnancy, I had an appointment today. I am 24 weeks today and looking at a delivery date of 6/28 or 6/29.  I will be 38 weeks on the 28th and I didn't really want to schedule to deliver him the week of the 4th of July! Or do I think I would even make it there! lol.. I delivered 10 days before my due date with Kaidi and 10 days before my due with Asher so a few extra days won't hurt! :) We have chosen a name for this little blessing and it is Atlas Keith. I know that it is different/weird, but it seems to be the one that we both like and agreed on and we are all about different! Keith is Gregg's step-dad's name and because he doesn't have any children of his own, Gregg wanted to honor him by using it as Atlas' middle name. He is a special part of Gregg's life and Gregg considers him his best friend so it felt very appropriate. I am very nervous about having 3 little ones in the house! Kaidi will be 2 1/2 when Atlas gets here and Asher won't even be a year old! SCARY!!!! So there's the recap for the past few months! lol.. talk to you again when the baby gets here!! lol

Loved the update! Sounds like you have been BUSY!! Hopefully the surgery will help both with the strep and other sicknesses.

I love the name, and that is so sweet to honor his step dad.
