New Member of the Family

Well I have some great news to share!!! We have a dog!! :) Our neighbors had a puppy show up at their house last night and we went and looked at it this afternoon and I decided that I wanted to take it home with us and give it a new family! We are pretty sure that it was just thrown off because it was very poor, eat up with fleas and VERY timid. The entire experience reminded me of when we found Tuff and how poor he was and how good a dog he turned out to be. Gregg and I talked about it and how it always seemed that the ones you "rescue" do seem to turn out to be the best dogs! Gregg thought that the puppy looked a lot like a hyena and looked up the names to the hyenas that were in The Lion King for name suggestions.. we'll get more to names in a minute... anyway, we lured the dog home and gave him a good bath, a big bowl of food and water, a lot of love and a flea collar! He is on the back porch and has not ran away in the 5 hours that he has been ours! :) Now, we need a little help in naming him. Here are a few of the names we have thrown out there and I was also wondering what your suggestions for him are.
We have thrown out Shenzi (hyena from LK), Remi (short for Remington), Charlie (just a good ol' dog name) and Chance... What do you think?? Got any suggestions?? Here are some pics from our dog rescue:

Saturday Afternoon/Evening, we had some wonderful friends come over and watch some football, grill burgers and let our kids play together. We took the kids outside to blow some bubbles and they had a blast. It was such a great day! When they left, Gregg and I talked about how much their little girl Abby reminded us of Kenadi. She is the same age the twins were when they passed away too. We talked of how we liked seeing Abby because she did remind us so much of Kenadi. I got a lil sad one time when she was sitting all on her own eating cheese puff and tried to feed one to Minnie Mouse. It was so cute and I tried to capture a picture of her doing it. It did remind me so much of Kenadi though. Her Boo bear still has a cheese puff stain on it's face. It was nice having the kids there though. It gave me a tiny glimpse of what my life may have been like at this very time if they were here. Here are some pics from the evening:
Kaidi was all ready for the game!
Bubbles are ALWAYS a hit with kiddos!! :)

Joseph really liked the gun!
Kaidi just enjoyed chewing on everything!
Abby was pretty fascinated with the gun too!
I love Joseph's face in this one. He just caught that bubble!
He worked so hard blowing those bubbles. It was cute, he told us that he had taken bubble lessons.

No wonder Alabama won!! They had these 3 cuties pulling for them!!
Kaidi's first cheese puff, now we have been eating cheese puffs all weekend long!

We had such a great time with Josh, Kelly and their kids. I love a great time of fellowship!! I look forward to spending more time with them in the future! Hope you all have a great week. I will probably do another post tomorrow about all Kaidi's new adventures! :)

I think king would be a nice name for the new dog and a easy name for a child to say.

Oh, what a sweet new friend you have :) I like Charlie.

Hope all is well and he's still hanging around your house :)

Kaidi is so adorable!

He looks like a Charlie, without a doubt! Plus, think how cute "Charlie" will sound coming out of Kaidi and future babies' mouths.

Go on, say it out loud, in babyspeak. See? Isn't it the most adorable thing you've ever heard?

I'm leaning towards Chance... as in you've given him a second Chance. I love the bubble pictures. It looks like the kids had so much fun :)
