Blood Drive

I wanted to let everyone know how well the blood drives went. We had such an amazing turn out and I am so thankful for the support of our community! We had to turn away over 70 people in Opp because there wasn't enough staff. The blood drive in Andalusia ran out of bags so they ended up turning people away in the end. The total collection as of last Friday was 96. Because of the large number of people we had to turn away, we held another blood drive this past Friday. They were able to collect 27 units there. There will also be one more blood drive this Wednesday that people will be able to go and donate to if they have not had the opportunity yet. It will be at the First United Methodist Church in Opp from 12-6. I have already got the date saved for next year and we have a large goal on that drive so we should have more than enough staff to accommodate the amount that show up. I am excited for this opportunity to allow our community to remember Brayden and Kenadi and to do something in their honor. I think it is a wonderful thing that each donor is doing for someone else. It is a selfless act.  I had a rough time donating blood this past Friday. It looks like I got hit in the arm with a baseball bat. They had a hard time on my right arm so after digging around for about 5-10  mins they found a vein on the left arm and were able to use that arm. It was all worth it. I hope you all have a wonderful week.

That's great!!! I would have been out like a light. When I had my Hystorectomy earlier this year, during the pre-op when you have to go and give blood, they had trouble getting a vain & dug for a few minutes and when they finally got done, I sat in the chair hot, sweaty and out cold!!!
