Cake Balls

Ok, So I have already had a few people ask me about Cake Balls. I found them off of Kelly's Korner Blog. Here is a link to the post with the recipe to cake balls. You can do them any way you like.

I have also heard that you can crush oreos, mix them up with cream cheese and roll them in balls and dip them in chocolate.
I have discovered that it is much easier to dip the balls in the chocolate if you freeze them about 30 mins ahead of time. :)
Hope you enjoy. If you make these and you know of any other "help trick" please comment. AND if you have made these before, what kind have you made and what is your favorite?? :)
I would like to make the red velvet ones, and sprinkle crushed pecans on the white chocolate as it dries! Doesn't that sound yummy?!

My sister-in-law makes these and she uses strawberry cake and icing and covers them in chocolate! They are wonderful!

mmmm!! I love cake balls. A TIP: I actually took a sheet of styrofoam and poked holes in it-then placed the cake balls (on the stick) in there to dry. It worked like a charm and you can work lots faster! My friend who is a professional baker gave me this trick.
Thinking of you and praying 2010 is blessed beyond measure.

I did red velvet with pecans this year--you can see them here

They were so so good!

P.S. Your Kaidi and my Hutch are only two days apart. Maybe they will be in the same kindergarten class one day.

Yes! I have made them! I found the recipe on Jenna's Journey at Christmas time and our family loved them! I crushed regular Oreos, added cream cheese and 1 tsp. of peppermint flavoring and rolled them in white and dark chocolate. Refrigerating them overnight before dipping them in the chocolate really helped! Hoping you and your family have a healthy, happy 2010! Kaidi is beautiful!
